What should I know about PCI Express?
PCI Express is a significant upgrade to the standard PCI bus found in most computers. PCI Express is so much faster, it is also being touted as a replacement for even the fastest AGP ports. In fact, most PCI Express cards are video cards.

The PCI slots are the white card slots found toward the rear portion of the motherboard. These slots are used for things like network cards, modems and other expansion cards. The AGP port is usually found near the PCI slots and is used for graphics cards. The PCI Express slot is usually near those other slots.

Speed gains from PCI Express were not that great in the beginning since the hardware had yet to fully support it. However, newer hardware is finally taking advantage of that extra speed.
