Should I add a either a CD or DVD writer to my system?
When buying a new computer, you will probably have the option of adding a CD or DVD writer to your system. If you can fit either into your budget, they can be very useful.

CD and DVD writers (or burners) can be very useful when it comes to backing up files or sharing them with others. CD drives can be used to make music mix CDs for your car as well has make photo discs.

With a DVD burner, you can back up a much larger number of files as well as share and back up your home videos. Newer HD-capable drives have the capacity to back up entire hard drives as well as share HD video. On the standard definition front, dual layer drives offer greater capacity over their single layer counterparts.

Recordable drives are becoming less expensive all the time and are increasingly useful for many tasks. If one fits your budget, go for it.
