What do I need to set up a wireless network?
If you want to connect a few computers together wirelessly as well as share an Internet connection, you'll need a wireless router. In addition, you'll need wireless adapters for each computer you want to connect together. Most wireless routers also have wired ports, so you can hook up wired devices instead of having to installed wireless adapters.

A wireless router not only connects the computers together wirelessly, but also allows sharing of a broadband connection. The bonus is a router also provides firewall protection to keep out hackers. Just make sure you enable the various security features of the router so no one else nearby can get on your network. Use either WEP or WPA encryption and limit access only to the MAC addresses of the network adapters in your computers.
